I will be happy to answer any additional questions about OCR, and it's history in use within Poker applications. much angrier than the rare person such as you who questions why we don't have RUSH or ZOOM support on OSX. It is too much to ask from our users to force them to play the way we need them to, they would be very angry with us if they were forced to play this way.

A big software developer like PokerTracker cannot assume an optimal environment on a user's computer, we have to develop for the common user. OCR requires an optimal environment to work properly. this is something that we would never let happen under our watch, the data must be accurate at all times. Watch the screen names in the accompanying Zoom Poker HUD window (which also takes up valuable playing real estate), and notice how often a name does not register or the names are wrong. What do you notice now?ģ) Layer 2 ZOOM tables on top of one another (stacking). Notice that the table has to be bigger than 1030 pixels wide? Most users cannot even place 2 tables on their screens at this resolution.Ģ) Now increase the size of the table so the HUD "works". I know because I am a Mac user, I have 2 powerbooks and an iMac desktop, and on 2 machines I have a VM, on the third I use Bootcamp. Its not mandatory, it is only an option, and it is an option that works very well. then there is the solution of using Bootcamp or a VM. We will never do that, the needs of our users are too important for us to ignore.īut for those OS X users who absolutely must have access to RUSH, Fast Poker, Zoom, or Fast Forward.
you are asking us to turn our back on players who already accept the fact that we cannot create a fast poker HUD on OSX. We have thousands upon thousands of users who purchased PokerTracker 3 without RUSH HUD support. You said " If I were in your position I'd honestly let the mac version go". there is literally nothing we can do without a change in policy from either the poker rooms or Apple. And this issue also affects Party Poker Fast Forward, iPoker Speed Poker, and PokerStars Zoom.

we want to create a RUSH HUD as badly as you want us to provide it, but we cannot accomplish this without the tools we need from either Apple or Full Tilt. You can complain to Apple which has shut off our ability to perform certain (trade secret) functions which are needed to create the RUSH HUD, or you can blame Full Tilt for not providing us with an API so we can determine which players are sitting at which seats. We have told our users since the day we first launched the RUSH HUD on Windows that due to very strict security in the operating system there is no known way for us to accomplish the same functionality in OS X. We have never had a HUD for RUSH tables on OSX, we have always been honest and forthright about the issues with fast poker tables on OSX ever since RUSH was first released and we already had PokerTracker 3 on the market. W0undy - Disappointment can go hand in hand with being misinformed, hopefully this post can shed some additional light and lower your level of disappointment. I'm sorry if I'm being kind of harsh but I am seriously disappointed.

If I were in your position I'd honestly let the mac version go, I don't understand why don't you, especially when yourselves advice people to play through a vm (being realistic it is far from a solid and trustworthy solution) or bootcamp (I didn't pay a mac to boot cracked windows several times a day) on their macs. ZOOM/Rush poker has become a huge portion of cash games volume, tournaments are on the way too.

Please don't get me wrong and I'm not trying to be rude here but you should be ashamed of yourselves releasing a semi-useless PT4 for mac out there. We pay for PT4 partially bc we need a HUD on our mac and don't want to even boot windows again in our lives for whatever reason.
